BARTL ALTER EGO TRUST

The Bartl Alter Ego Trust, a premier long-time sponsor of SOS Children’s Village BC, has sold a stunning 1967 Mercedes Benz 250 SL with the help of world renowned Mercedes restorer Rudi von Koniczek for $169,837.50 and has donated sale proceeds to SOS BC in support of our soon to be launched Pacifica Program.

We sincerely thank the Bartl Alter Ego Trust for this generous donation to our program!

In our efforts to support vulnerable children in our community, SOS BC is launching a new outreach program, Pacifica, in response to families, children, and youth who are recovering from serious natural disasters in BC.

Pacifica is currently nestled in the Lytton community where families are still recovering from 2 consecutive fires and floods and who are developing ways to overcome food security challenges. There has been limited and untimely support provided to the community and as a result, it has deeply impacted the wellbeing of children, youth, and families in the community.

Through Pacifica and our partnership with Vancouver Outdoor School, SOS BC has already been able to provide 3 family camp retreats and workshops for families in the community as a pilot for the program. This gave parents and kids a well needed break and respite from day to day battles of securing housing and food for families, as well as afterschool programming to help keep kids engaged in a healthy and safe space.

Look out for more information later this spring for our official launch of Pacifica!
