Jonah Jackson, Director
Social Work Student
Langara College

Jonah Jackson, he/him/his.

I am Cree and Anishinaabe from Zagimay first nation in southern Saskatchewan, with familial ties to Cowessess and Star Blanket Cree First Nations. I currently live on the unceded and occupied territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people, specifically in the settler village of Tsawwassen.

I am new to the Board of Directors for SOS Children’s Village BC. When I was born, my parents were foster parents with VACFSS, and I grew up with many siblings as a result. These early years informed my decision to become a social worker; I am currently attending Langara College working towards my Bachelor of Social Work.

As I am doing the important work of cultural reclamation, I also want to be of service to my community and I am excited at the opportunity to effect change with SOS BC.

I was a high-level soccer player for twelve years, as well as playing basketball and baseball. I now enjoy getting out in nature for hikes and walks, watching anime, playing video games with friends, and golfing.
