Ellyn Kitsul
Transition to Adulthood - Youth Worker

I am currently working at SOS Children’s Village BC as a youth worker in the Transition to Adulthood Program. I have always been passionate about encouraging and supporting people with the goal of making a difference in someone’s life. Growing up I hoped that would play a role in my professional life.

I am currently enrolled in the Child and Youth Care Counselling program with a specialization in Indigenous studies as well as the Child Protection Order, both at Douglas College. Part of the reason why I applied to Douglas College was because I had learnt about SOS BC and the programs they ran for vulnerable youth, and knew I wanted to be a part of that positive change.

My goal for myself post-education was to be part of a community that had the same goals as me regarding helping individuals heal and grow into the best versions of themselves. Receiving the opportunity to be a youth worker for SOS BC has confirmed to me that I am right where I should be.
