Bushra joined SOS BC in the middle of 2021. She is originally from Southern California and has a background in municipal administration and more recently, end of life services.
After serving as a last responder for the past 5 years, Bushra decided to leave a successful career and join SOS BC because she was inspired by the work and care that goes into supporting children and youth in our local community. When she is not at work, she is at home with her family and enjoys reading, writing, yoga, gardening, and meditation.
Why I love my job: “I love my job because I am passionate about serving others. Prior to joining SOS BC, I found myself recovering from severe burnout, and the work done in support of children gave me a sense of renewal. The culture at the Village is rooted in heart-centered leadership, empathy, and compassion. This is by far one of the best teams I have ever been a part of.”
