This is your chance to follow the extraordinary journey of a fellow Canadian on her blog as she cycles across Canada to help SOS Children's Villages Canada and SOS Children's Village BC give orphans and foster children homes and a family.
In her words:
Hello! My name is Tana (although my friends all call me Silver!) and, starting in June 2010, I plan to spend two to three years crossing Canada from north-west to south-east, primarily on a recumbent trike called Ranger. And the reason it’s going to take so long (apart from the fact that I’m a really slow cyclist, of course ), is because I will be travelling in anything but a straight line! I’m trying to raise awareness of the charity SOS Children’s Villages as I pedal, so I aim to visit as many communities as I can across each of the provinces and territories of the country of which I have recently become a permanent resident. Although born and bred in the UK, I fell in love with Canada nearly fifteen years ago and after a long battle with serious illness and the global economic crisis, I’ve finally made it! This is my way of getting to know my new home country and supporting a fantastic charity at the same time...
